A nice view of a set of tongues for a whole rank of pipes. The tool at the rear is a small, precise shear which is used to cut the brass reed stock.
Here, the worker is using a belt sander to smooth the shallot that the reed fits against. A finer grade of sandpaper is waiting on the tan sanding belt at the left.
Here are some resonators which fit into the tops of metal pipes. At the rear we can see a bracket which is used to hold the pipes upright. It is lined with red felt to reduce scratching and to prevent buzzing.
